Sensory bedrooms
Sleep-first design: blackout layers, dimmable warm light, low-stimulation colour, and bedding chosen for your child's touch preferences.

We redesign bedrooms, playrooms and quiet corners for children with autism and sensory needs — so your child has somewhere in the house that always feels safe.
No two sensory profiles are the same, so no two rooms we build are either. Here's where families usually start.
Sleep-first design: blackout layers, dimmable warm light, low-stimulation colour, and bedding chosen for your child's touch preferences.
A retreat that fits your home — enclosed, soft, and predictable, with the pressure, light and sound your child actually settles with.
Swings, crash pads, climbing and balance built safely into playrooms, basements and garages for the proprioceptive input kids seek out.
Small changes with big impact: lighting swaps, sound softening, visual schedules, storage that makes transitions easier for everyone.
A relaxed call or meeting about your child — what soothes, what overwhelms, and what a hard day looks like in your home.
We observe the space with your child in mind: light, sound, texture, sightlines, safety and how the room is really used.
You get a visual plan, product list and clear budget. Specialists may be brought in for more involved estimates. Nothing is ordered until it feels right to you.
We build and style around your family's schedule, then walk you through the room and adjust after a few weeks of real life.
Every room is different, but these are the things we always work through with you before anything changes.
Dimmable, warm and flicker-free, with layers you can turn down as the day winds down.
Soft surfaces and placement choices that take the edge off echo, hum and hallway noise.
Fabrics and finishes chosen around what your child seeks out and what they can't tolerate.
Anchoring, clearances and materials checked before anything goes on a wall or ceiling.
Most homes are designed for a nervous system that filters things out. For a lot of children, they don't. The hum of a light, a scratchy seam, a room with too many places to look — it adds up long before anyone says a word.
Haven exists to change that one room at a time. We work alongside parents, and where you have them, your occupational therapist's recommendations, translating them into a space that actually looks and feels like home — not a clinic.
I'm a school psychologist, and I started Haven because I believe a child's home should be as therapeutic as any strategy or support plan. In the school setting, I see how much environment shapes attention, regulation, and calming — and I wanted to bring that same lens into the place where children spend the most time and feel most safe: their home.
Every design here is grounded in an understanding of sensory needs, learning differences, and what actually helps a child feel safe. But while the approach may be methodical, the spaces we create are never clinical — they are warm, personal, and built around real family life.
Tell us a little about your child and the space you have in mind. The first conversation is free, and there's never any pressure to book.
